    Restaurants:
  • Angelina's Pizzeria & Pasta: 4005 E. Co. Hwy. 30-A. In the Heart of Seagrove Beach. ph: 850 231 2500, Traditional Italian fare - veal and seafood dishes. Hand-tossed New York style pizza.
  • Bayou Bill's Crab Shack: 235-1010 located a stone's throw away next to Winn-Dixie where Front Beach Rd meets Back Beach Rd (new Hwy. 98) across from Carillon Beach. Good food and ask if they have any specials. Nice place, but sometimes crowded and slow on service.
  • Bud & Alley's: Founded in 1986 and named for a dog and cat, Bud & Alley's has been a central attraction in Seaside for over 15 years. Bud & Alley's has been chosen by Florida Trends Magazine as 'One of Florida's top 200 restaurants. It is located on the beach side of 30-A in Seaside.   • Café 30-A: Casual fine dining featuring eclectic menu of seafood, meats, poultry & wood-oven pizzas. Beautiful, airy, "beach chic" atmosphere. Fine wines & famous martinis. Open nightly. Reservations suggested 850.231.2166. Located at Highway 30-A, Seagrove Beach. www.cafethirtya.com
  • Captain Anderson's: Great place for food and drink. Make sure you get there by 4 PM. Go out the back and watch all the fishing boats come in with there catch of the day. It is something to see. All the fishing boats coming in for the day and unloading the fish. Then you can go into Captain Andersons, which opens at 4:30pm; otherwise you may wait for hours to be seated. If you want another choice for food, go across Thomas Drive to Hamilton's. Not as pricey as Captain Andersons, but very good. 234-2225 www.captandersons.com
  • Criolla's: Since 1991, Florida Trend Magazine has claimed Criolla's as "One of Florida's Top Twenty Restaurants." Incredible food and wine selection. Located at U.S. Highway 98 West 2 1/2 miles past Carillon Beach. Turn left on Scenic Route 30-A. Travel 10 1/2 miles. Criolla's is on the left, directly on 30-A. Probably need reservations.   • Ducky's Pizza And Sub Sandwiches: located on 2200 block of Front Beach Rd, across from the beach. Great NY style sandwiches and Pizza.
  • Red Bar: in Grayton Beach, a bit of a drive up 30A. Only have 5 entrees on it chalkboard menu and looks old, but is new. Celebrities have shown up here for the Jazz and food. Jazz area has sofas and chairs, fun place. Suggest taking a Limo or a rent car and going as a group.
  • Sharkys Beach Club & Seafood: Indoor and outdoor sitting areas, located on the beach at 15201 Front Beach Road, (850) 235-2420
  • Spicy Noodle: Located a couple of miles west of Carillon Beach on U.S. Highway 98, Inlet Beach (850) 231-0955, serving pasta and pizza in a pleasant setting. The decor is eclectic. Walls are decorated with culinary utensils and country knick-knacks. Tables are strictly Italian with Chianti bottles and candles. Surrounding the restaurant at ceiling height is a collection of empty wine bottles signed by the guests who drank the contents.
  • Sunnyside Grill: Located about 1 mile east of Carillon Beach at 21828 Front Beach Road, (850) 233-0729. Great hole-in-the-wall place to get all those southern breakfast dishes that you shouldn't have.
  • The Terrace Restaurant: located west on 98 going towards Lake Powell. Upscale food and pricing, but a small romantic little place where the food is great.
  • The Treasure Ship: 234-8881 Waterfront dining and Pirates- what could be better. Good food and has two other restaurants. HOOKS Grille & Grog dockside dinning with Caribbean Cuisine. There is a Rooftop all you can eat restaurant called CAPT. CRABBY'S. Really good seafood and you can also have Surf and Turf. www.thetreasureship.com
  • Thomas' Donuts: A little place on Front Beach Rd (look for the flashing white light), where they make awesome fresh donuts, bagels, and muffins among all kinds of other things. Open for Breakfast and Lunch. Reasonable prices.
  • Cool Notes: Located in Downtown Carillon, Cool Notes welcomes a variety of jazz, blues and R&B performers nightly with no cover charge. Great New Orleans style cuisine and two for one happy hour drinks, 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Live music at 7 PM nightly! 850-230-2999.
  • Hava Java: Located in Downtown Carillon, all your favorite coffee drinks and sweet treats. Hava Java offers fresh baked cookies, pastries, Gelato Italian ice creams, and a variety of beverages from 7 AM to 10 PM daily. Open mike night on Friday and Saturday 7 to 10 PM. 850-636-3500.
  • Threefish Grille: An exciting dining experience for the entire family, located in the heart of Downtown Carillon next to Carillon Realty. The grille features fresh seafood and tender beef, home-baked breads and desserts, and a casual, friendly lake-front atmosphere. Serving lunch and dinner, 11 AM - 10 PM, 7 days a week. 850-235-2811.

    If You Want To Cook It Yourself:
  • Buddy's Seafood: has fresh seafood and located on 79 close to Back Beach. Fresh fish and seafood and they will steam your shrimp at no extra charge.
  • The Carousel Market: a great place for meats and shopping, they also have newspapers on sale from various sources. USA today being one. They are lined up outside and .50 cents each. Carousel has a great wine department and a great liquor store next to it. You can even get gas for your car there. We shop there a lot.
  • Winn-Dixie: located on the far west end where Front Beach and Back Beach Rd. meet. There is also another on at Front Beach and Hwy. 79, known as the Y.

    Shopping:
  • Silver Sands Outlet Mall: Located in this side of Destin (just 2 miles past Sandestin) on Highway 98.
  • Wal-Mart: All sorts of beach stuff. Located in PC Beach and in Destin on Highway 98.

    Kids & Family: Just For Fun:
  • Gulf World Marine Park: Offers an opportunity to have a Dolphin Encounter or you can even be a Trainer for a day. Not to mention that it is a great show. Daily, with a laser light show in the evenings.15412 Front Beach Rd., (850) 234-5271, www.gulfworldmarinepark.com
  • Miracle Strip Amusement Park: a lot of fun and there are games and lots of rides for all ages. www.miriclestrippark.com 234-5810
  • Shell Island: Beautiful pristine Island and great for dolphin watching, snorkeling. There are boat trips, which include lunch, east end of Hathaway Bridge, or you can catch a shuttle from St. Andrews State Park. We usually rent a pontoon boat at Scotty's or "You're the Captain" Rentals.
  • Scotty Boat Rentals: Fleet includes waverunners, pontoon boats and fishing boats. Scotty's also offers 2-hour guided waverunner tours around Shell Island. Snorkeling gear, ice and coolers available. Located at 5611 W. Hwy 98 (east side of Hathaway Bridge), Phone 872-1714.
  • You're The Captain Rentals: Pontoon and other watercraft rentals here. Located at Hamilton's Restaurant at Thomas Drive on Grand Lagoon. Call 230-3676 or 1-888-320-3777 for information.
  • Shipwreck Island Water Park: located at 12000 Front Beach Rd. 234-0368, www.shipwreckisland.com Great cool fun, big slides and lots of water.
  • Treasure Island Party Boat For Fishing: This is fun. Holds about 40 people and has a shaded area and rest room. Usually has two trips a day and you can bring your own coolers. They supply everything; fishing rods, bait and they will take them off your hook for you. After the boat docks, they give you your fish and there is a place on the pier that you can have them cleaned and filleted. You can find this at the Treasure Island Marina. 3605 Thomas Drive 234-8246
  • Big Daddy's Bikes & Beach Sports: Rentals, sales & repairs of bikes (mountain & street), kayaks, canoes, surf boards, skate boards, body boards, skim boards. Also provides dune and lake tours. Delivery included. Located in Blue Mountain Beach on the Scenic 30-A Bike Path at 2217 Scenic Highway 30-A, Suite C, 850 622 1165, www.bigdaddysrentals.com.

    Golf On The Gulf:
  • Hombre: A great 27 hole course, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, which personally resembles my game. Anyway, it is rated highly and located on Hwy 98 www.hombregolfclub.com 234-3673
  • Camp Creek: Located off 30A right past Rosemary Beach area. Built to be a Private Course, but at this time it is open to the public. Takes about 25-30 minutes to get there from Front Beach Rd.
  • Signal Hill: A good course and probably the most reasonable one in this area. It is located off Joan Avenue and Thomas Drive area. 234-3218
  • Holiday: A nine hole, par 3 course that is lighted for night play if you wish. They also have an 18-hole course. www.holidaygolfclub.com
  • The Legend At Marriott: One of the top 10 golf courses in the U.S. It is challenging and fun. #18 is a killer is you are not a long driver. Worth the effort to play. One of the best courses in the US. Located at the Bay Point Marriott. www.baypointgolf.com
